Should You Keep Kitty Litter in Your Car This Winter?

Driving in the winter can be difficult. This is especially true for when your tires get stuck in the snow and lose traction. Many vehicle drivers aren't sure what to use to get unstuck from the snow and as a result, may be unable to move for a prolonged period of time or may even have an accident. Could kitty litter help improve your tire traction to get out of the snow?

Besides carrying cat litter, some of the other materials recommended to get tire traction and get out of a stuck spot include sand and salt. While sand and kitty litter do not melt ice, they can be cheaper to purchase than rock salt which only melts ice at certain temperatures. If you're worried about the snow being turned into mush like kitty litter does, you can use sand to avoid this.
